Dr. Michel’s journey began with a strong academic foundation, graduating from the University of Connecticut, where she graduated among the top 10% of her class. Her unwavering dedication to animal well-being & pursuit of excellence led her to the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, a prestigious institution where she honed her skills and absorbed the latest advancements in veterinary science. However, it was her training under the esteemed Dr. Newkirk during her clinical year & the period post-graduation that truly shaped her distinctive approach to veterinary care.
Fueled by an insatiable curiosity and a desire to provide comprehensive and integrative treatment options, Dr. Michel delved into various holistic & alternative medicine courses. Among her accolades are certifications from institutions including the College of Integrative Veterinary Therapies, where she gained expertise in areas such as Veterinary Natural Nutrition, Food Therapy, & Nutraceuticals. Her extensive education includes completing courses at Chi University, including/ranging from Chinese Herbal Fundamental knowledge to Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine Fundamental Theories to Integrative Veterinary Medicine. Such comprehensive training allowed her to explore unconventional methodologies that extend beyond conventional veterinary practices.
Dr. Michel wholeheartedly adopted progressive concepts such as the BARF Method developed by Dr. Ian Billinghurst & the practice of Veterinary Orthopedic Manipulation (VOM). This is further demonstrated by her exploration of non-surgical, alternative cancer treatments, such as Neoplasene, and tumor vaccines, which exemplify her willingness to push boundaries to benefit her patients. From Bach Flower Remedies to the use of medicinal mushrooms, from regenerative medicine to Glandular therapies, her repertoire covers the gamut of possibilities.
